Can Your Lotus Be Cured of BV Forever?

Can Your Lotus Be Cured of BV Forever?

Can Your Lotus Be Cured Of BV Forever?

Ok sis, let’s get into the REAL DEAL when it comes to BV. I wish this topic wasn’t so taboo as if having Bacterial Vaginosis wasn’t so common, but as common as BV is, we HAVE to break down exactly what it is and release the shame of having it by educating ourselves. First, let me get real about my journey. Many of you have come to know me and The Lotus Houss community, because of my hilarious no nonsense BV videos on Instagram and Tik Tok. If you haven’t seen those videos, what are you waiting for? Grab your Sweet Pu**y juice and join the tribe ( subscribe to our email list for exclusives).

I am passionate about helping women with their vaginas aka their Lotus.

My journey of having bacterial vaginosis started when I was about 18 years old. I was a new mom in a toxic relationship with a man who couldn’t care less about my sacred Lotus. My life was a real life soap opera, so I was beyond stressed and the symptoms of BV were very embarrassing for me to express at the time. I had gone to the doctors and received antibiotics that made my BV symptoms worse! Say hello to annoying yeast infections! This recurred for years as I went through trial and error to get rid of the symptoms. My battle with bacterial vaginosis didn’t change until I really started researching the infection itself and broadening my approach to healing beyond traditional western medicine. Don’t get me wrong, I wholeheartedly believe in going to the doctor for emergencies, but after realizing western medicine is more centered on dealing with the symptoms rather than really healing the root of the issue, I knew I would NEVER fully heal from BV if I didn’t start implementing wholistic plant based medicine and spirituality as a part of my recovery...but more on that later.

What is this? I just want good pu**y NOW!!!

Ok, so let’s get into the real deal of what BV is. Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a common vaginal infection caused by an overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina.

It is between 15-44 in age that a woman could in fact catch this infection. According to the Office on Women’s Health, “BV is the most common vaginal condition in women ages 15 to 44.1 But women of any age can get it”.However, as common as BV is, we must break down what exactly it is and educate ourselves on this infection not being normal.

Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a common vaginal infection caused by an overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina. We all have bacteria within the body however when there is too much… bad bacteria becomes a prime opportunity for a very unhappy and sometimes smelly Lotus.  Research from the CDC has stated that they do not know what causes BV, but it “is a result of an imbalance of “good” and “harmful” bacteria in a vagina”. I don’t know what scientifically causes it either, but sis…these symptoms are annoying AF!

These symptoms are:

  • A thin white or gray vaginal discharge
  • Pain, itching, or burning
  • Having a fish-like odor (This sh*t is the worse)
  • Burning when peeing (DAMN!)
  • Itching around the outside of the vagina (you know what…just throw the whole thing away at this point!)

Can Traditional Healthcare Put an End to BV?

I’ll put it like this… Although I’m not a doctor, however I firmly believe in healing through plants and spirituality. A healthcare provider can determine if a woman has bacterial vaginosis by taking a sample of the vaginal fluid. Within the western healthcare system they have treated BV with antibiotics, however they are aware that a woman can be infected again and again. Their advice is to limit your sex partners, NOT douching, using condoms correctly, etc.

Let’s get REAL about this.

Granted, I agree with limiting your sex partners, etc. (more on that later), but the question is why exactly are women getting medical treatment for BV and yet it still returns!? Why is the treatment not working for some women and how can you actually cure and prevent bacterial vaginosis from recurring?

My journey of having bacterial vaginosis started when I was about 18 years old. I was sexually active at this time, my lifestyle wasn’t stress-free, and the symptoms were very embarrassing for me to express at the time. I had gone to the doctors as I was raised to do so and received antibiotics that made my BV symptoms worse by getting yeast infections. This recurred for years as I went through trial and error to get rid of the symptoms. My life with bacterial vaginosis didn’t change until I started questioning the infection itself and not only being concerned with the symptoms.

As I continued my journey, read the same research, and listened to some of the medical advice…NONE OF IT WORKED! After years of taking the antibiotics and seeing how my BV just kept getting worse!

It was at that moment that I started to pay more  attention to myself which included my diet and lifestyle. I paid attention to the foods that weren’t nutritional for my body to fight or prevent BV. I also paid attention to how stress, a horrible romantic partner and a lack of a spiritual practice all affected my body and my mind. I also paid attention to how having a deeper understanding of hygiene played a role as well.

Fast forward to today… I haven't had bacterial vaginosis or other common vaginal infections in many years due to implementing some major changes.

Diet: Your Lotus Secretes What You Eat?

As I started to pay attention to my body and actually get more information, I've  learned that the body will try to fight off anything that tries to attack it. My problem was that I wasn’t giving my body the proper nutrition to do so. I was eating the same foods I knew weren’t the healthiest (hello ribs, mac n cheese, and a side of chocolate cake). I was enjoying my little tasty unhealthy food, but those plates of delicious death were triggering my recurring bacterial vaginosis and other health issues that would have occurred…so yea it all had to go.

Here’s what I stayed away from to prevent BV:

  1. Sugar
  2. Dairy
  3. Alcohol
  4. Processed foods
  5. Meat
  6. Caffeine
  7. Refined Carbohydrates

Here’s what I did intake to prevent bv:

  1. More leafy greens (real natural chlorophyll) - spinach, kale, romaine lettuce, arugula, etc.
  2. Cranberries
  3. Raspberries
  4. Lots of water
  5. Spirulina
  6. Moringa
  7. Goldenseal

I’ll be adding detailed recipes and more as our Lotus Houss community grows...

“First thing in the morning, when i wake up, thank God for life…look in the mirror, b**ch im the BEST BEST BEST BEST…WAY TOO BLESSED BLESSED BLESSED” - SHENSEEA

IDK why that song lives rent free in my head lol, but I really did feel GOOD AF by changing my diet and lifestyle. One thing I noticed about my journey with BV  is just how much my commitment to a lifestyle change played a role in my overall health. I chose to eat unhealthy foods because of it. Between the unhealthy food, toxic relationships, stress and general low vibration living, the  stress level caused my face breakouts, the angry outbursts, and eventually depression on top of dealing with the shame of recurring BV. As you continue to join The Lotus Houss community, we will have more content that deeply dives into every aspect of lifestyle changes that can help you cure your BV. For now, here’s a summary of everything I did to cure my BV FOREVER:

Lifestyle

  1. I changed to a plant based lifestyle (Listen to meh…VEGAN FOOD IS THE SH*T)
  2. I finally found a spiritual practice that works for me by learning about African spirituality, connecting to nature, releasing stress through therapy and meditation, journaling and studying the teachings of people like Dr. Sebi, Queen Afua and Iyanla Vanzant.
  3. As my spiritual practice evolved, I was able to release toxic relationships. I learned that sometimes my BV was my spirit letting me know that my partner was vastly misaligned with my journey of healing my heart and my Lotus.
  4. I changed my hygiene practices and released the shame of admitting I didn’t know what products I should use for a healthy Lotus.
  5. I started seriously increasing self care by pouring a little more love into my Lotus. My Lotus Love Regimen ncludes detoxes with teas and juices, Lotus steams  , aromatherapy, spiritual baths with my Moon Ritual Coconut Milk Bath, and much more.
  6. Finally, I released the shame of having BV and started being honest with other women about what I was going through on social media and in real life. That opened up a whole new world for me to build a community centered around a holistic approach to Lotus wellness. Our community is still growing and I’m so excited for us to continue to grow.

So, can YOU cure yourself of BV FOREVER?

With the research given and sharing my personal experience with BV, my best advice is to take it easy on yourself. This journey was hard for me. I was too embarrassed to talk about it because of the symptoms and I deep down just didn't think any other woman was going through this. Truth is you are not alone with this and this infection can be cured believe it or not. I have NOT suffered from any BV or yeast infections in years since my diet and lifestyle change. Also, there are platforms, such as The LotusHouss, that have been created to provide a safe space for women to come together about this common issue.

In my years of healing myself physically and emotionally, I never thought healing from things such as bacterial vaginosis would be part of my purpose. However, here I am sharing my story to the world to make a change.

I stumbled on your page doing some research on BV. My Gyn says I need to stop using soap down there, only water. I was also told to only shower once a day. I will not be doing that part. I was told no handcloths down there either. Wtf!! Is what I was saying to myself. I will look at my diets and eating habits. I don’t drink, smoke , eat process meats so 🤷🏾 I am guessing it’s soap. I was told to just use water. I am looking into probotics for balancing my PH. Your story is definitely one that I can relate to. Please continue the dialogue with information on this topic. It’s definitely appreciated.

I don’t even remember how I found your page but I can’t tell you enough how you’d changed my life already. I have suffered from BV FOR YEARS NOW. Soothing happened to me that changed my life and I’ve only told one person. After this incident I noticed I had an issue down there. Fast forward after I check up I was told I had BV. I’m have had this smell for so long and I toonebrtyimg the docs gave me and nit ing helped. Maybe for a day or so and the horrible smell was back. I isolated myself from friends and family. I went from being at all the family gatherings/ having gathering at my house to being so antisocial. Man man man I found your page but I wasnt really on it on it.
After having such a bad week and people noticing how mad I smelled I came on your page determine to find help. You mentioned Goldenseal so I went on Amazon and got some the next day. When I say the smell and symptoms seemed to have went away in a matter of days I tell you no lies. Now I’m trying to first better, distress, and regain my confidence back. I still have some issues im
Not sure about ( like after a bowl movement the poop smell sema to linger on me even though I clean throughly and wash after. I’m working with a gaterolgist to figure out what could be wrong. Sorry I know this is long but man I just had to say how happy I am to not have a fishy odor. My life can be beautiful again

Thank you lotus B

Bv it’s something that we all should talk about. It’s OK, but changing your diet is number one I would definitely be recommending your page to others. Thanks for the holistic advice.
